Two at last!
Here is the first picture of Auggie at his 2nd birthday party. Shelly spent weeks working out all the details for a party in the local park for twenty of Auggie's little pals. Unfortunately, it was a freezing cold, windy, foggy San Francisco afternoon, and all of the adults were nearly hypothermic before the big event was over. (the sangria was gone too soon to keep us all warm!) The kids had a great time. The hit of the party was this cupcake birthday cake, with the shape of a helicopter and dump truck on it. (Auggie's current favorite things). He even dressed up as a cow (his other favorite thing) for his big day, as you can see. All in all it was a big success, even if it proved the old Mark Twain saying about the "coldest winter being the summer in San Francisco"!

If you are ever in the area
John Rodman hosts a great Memorial Day (on the Sunday before Memorial Day) which is essentially a music festival. Local bands show up and jam, everyone brings food to share, and basically a great time is had by all. Joe and I can't make it this year but here's a photo from last year:

Coffee Deals
Anyone who wants micro roasted coffee, go to the site www.greatcoffeeco.com and use the coupon code friendsfam at the checkout for a 38 % discount. I may not be an expert on coffee, but my friend Phil, the master roaster, really is. This is good stuff. Shelly and I have been drinking "Joe Dark" blend lately, but all the others are good, too. Enjoy.
Auggie turns two!
Birthdays
I've added birthdays of the grandkids - please tell me if I have the wrong day for someone and please, can someone tell me the birthday of this guy? Put it in the comments. Thanks.
"The" puppy contract
Per request, here is the contract that was negotiated before the arrival of Jango. Amanda really wanted to get another dog, but I was against the idea. She got some advice from Sheri to try to convince me by working out a deal to give me something I wanted in exchange. Page 1 of the contract is the result - its pretty funny (it is the image on the bottom). After reading and rejecting the contract, we started on the additional terms included on page 2 of the contract. The most important one was the definition of who "we" was as I needed to make sure that Sheri was in on the deal.
Anyway, this is Amanda's first contract negotiation and she did a pretty good job. I laminated the original and will have it in hand every Sunday this fall......

Meet Jango

Welcome!
Hi All,
I was in San Francisco this weekend and Pat and I were talking about blogs. We decided it could be a great way for all of us to keep in touch. Each of us can post photos and stories and sharoe what is going on in your life and, of course, include some cute photos.
It's easy to use - I'll send you the info by e-mail. If you have any questions, just ask me.
And now, the mandatory cute photos:
Auggie and his pal Bob
All the grandkids (except Kira - she wasn't born yet!)
