...and a great birthday it turned out to be. The highlight was going fishing at Laguna Lake on Sunday with Mike's family (Rian caught a 2 lb channel catfish!!) followed by a scrumptuous home cooked Thai feast afterwards with Mom and Sharon in attendance. The Tom Gha Ghi soup that Sharon whipped up was beyond incredible. Cherise made chicken satay with peanut sauce, oriental salad with flash fried crispy wonton noodles and some perfect rice to go along with the soup (Mom skewered the chicken up - thanks Mom!)(Mom also liked the oriental salad so much that after several helpings there was none left for me - thanks Mom! wink). The boys decorated the house with streamers and ballons and each made me nice handcrafted presents.
Yesterday I used the Home Depot gift cards I got from Mom and Cherise to re-sheet our porch with 1/2" plywood so now nobody will fall through the floor when walking around out there (it was really, really bad!! We almost lost Mike through one of the sink holes!!!)
It was the greatest birthday weekend and best of all is the news that Cherise is expecting our sixth baby!! I am hoping for a girl (Tara), but the odds are probably against it. Another boy would be a blessing too, but we are running out of four letter Irish boy names! We are just so darn excited I think my head is going to split open and pure happiness seap out of it!!
We used to be 8 little kids and two parents who saw each other every day but now we're grown up and need a major event to get us all together. This is a way to keep in touch and share our lives. Enjoy!
